More than a year after 18-year-old Alhambra High School senior Danny Chan was gunned down outside a party, no arrests have been made and family members grow eager for justice. Chan, an Alhambra resident, was one of two young men fatally shot after a fight at a party the day before Easter Sunday, March 22, 2008, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Detective Frank Salerno said. Chan died two days later at a hospital. Jimmy Tran, 18, of El Monte died at the scene of the attack, coroner’s officials said. Chan was due to graduate high school that year and was full of promise, family members said in a written statement. “We visit Danny’s grave every week and bring him his college acceptance letters along with his flowers,” family members said. Little new information has emerged in the case over the past year, Salerno said. The shooters have only been identified as three or four Asian men about 18 to 20 years old, he said. Based on the circumstances of the attack, “We think the suspects are gang members,” he said. The victims had no gang ties.
